Record Store Day, conceived in 2007 as a way to celebrate the local independently owned record store, is right around the corner on April 16th. This year the extremely cool list of limited edition releases includes the long-awaited, 40th Anniversary vinyl reissue of one of the most heralded albums in Bluegrass: J.D. Crowe & the New South.

Brett Harris, who released his sophomore album, Up In The Air, March 4th makes an appearance in NYC at Rockwood Music Hall on April 7th.

Harris has said of the album, “The phrase Up in the Air struck me as being true of the climate in which this album was made. I started recording it at a time when a lot of my peers were saying goodbye to their 20s and were witnessing their careers either take off or give way to a more conventional way of life.
