ASHEVILLE, NC (April 12, 2017 Press Release)  Refuge means different things to different people but to NC native Aaron Burdett it means playing music.  His latest album, Refuge, tells the story of a working man's life in the heart of the North Carolina mountains, where fierce independence and self-sufficiency co-exist with a strong sense of family and community. Aaron's music doesn't exist in the past, but is rather a modern-day storytelling of how southern Appalachian mountain culture, and the people who hold onto it, struggle to survive in today's fast-paced world.

Available at Organic, iTunes, and Amazon. For more on the artist, visit: www.aaronburdett.com

Who doesn’t like to see the good guy finish first?

Taking a leap of faith Aaron went all in on his latest album Refuge.  This marks his seventh album and his third with Organic Records.  Digging deep for relatable and personal lyrics, heartbreaking beautiful melodies, bending genres from Americana, folk-rock, bluegrass, blues and country - this is a glimpse of who he is.  His production ranges from stripped down to raucous. Aaron can turn a phrase with the best and his voice will stand the test of time as one of the most distinctive to come from NC.

Flat Duo Jets' Wild Wild Love Box Set Releasing Record Store Day, April 22

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Press Release) — For more than three decades,  Flat Duo Jets   have been the American rock underground’s secret, as hugely influential among musicians as they are obscure to the broader mainstream. And much of the Jets’ reputation is based on their first full-length album, the roots-rock landmark  Flat Duo Jets, originally released on   Dog Gone Records  in 1990 — and coming back into circulation as a three-disc vinyl box set, Wild Wild Love, to be released by   Daniel 13  on  Record Store Day,  April 22, 2017.

Singer/guitarist  Dexter Romweber   and drummer  Chris “Crow” Smith  were still teenagers when they formed Flat Duo Jets in Chapel Hill in 1984. Inspired in equal measure by  the Cramps’  haunted rockabilly and vintage drive-in horror movies, they cooked up a metallic version of rockabilly that sounded as if it had been launched into the deepest quadrants of the astral plane.

Song from EP, “Please Don’t Turn Out My Light,” featured in Coca-Cola/Regal Cinemas promo in 2016

(Press Release) New York City-based 22-year-old singer-songwriter Chris Wills is set to release he debut EP, This Place Ain’t For Me, on August 11, 2017.  Produced by Grammy-nominated engineer Koby Hass (who has produced or engineered for Matt McAndrew, Mali Music and Lupe Fiasco's Lasers, Rihanna, Kanye West, Paul Simon, and Lady Gaga), This Place Ain’t For Me packs a lifetime’s worth of experiences into six songs.

Three of the tracks will be released as singles in advance of the EP.  “Nowhere To Go” streets on May 12th, the title track, “This Place Ain’t For Me,” hits June 9th, and “Since You Said Goodbye” will come out July 14th. Great songwriting is at the core of who Chris Wills is. As he explains, in the lyrics for “Since You Said Goodbye,” he attempts to express the sense of longing and desperation found in, say, Roy Orbison gems like “Only the Lonely,” “Crying” and “I’m Hurtin’.” Sonically, the song channels the feel of some great Irish acts like The Waterboys, Hothouse Flowers, and Glen Hansard of Once fame.

Wills, a New Jersey native, struck gold when his song and accompanying short film, “Please Don't Turn Out My Light,” was selected as the winner of the Refreshing Films Program run by Coca-Cola and Regal Cinemas – the clip was shown nationwide in Regal Theaters for three months (October to December) in 2016. Coke/Regal got a number of different treatments, picked three finalists, and gave each of the three teams $15,000 to make an ad. Wills’ ad – created with the help of a director – was selected as the winner from among the finalists. The ad has no dialogue so his song was used to portray the dynamics between the two main characters in the clip.

Nashville, TN - - -  (Press Release,  April 12, 2017 )  Fans who have waited nearly 10 years for a new solo project by one of the most meaningful musical voices in Americana and Country music can stop counting the days. Not only is  Bruce Robison & the Back Porch Band   available on  April 28, it is available now for  pre-order  through Apple Music and comes with an instant download of “Sweet Dreams,” which features Robison’s wife Kelly Willis.

“I figured out a long time ago that Kelly is the key to my music,” Robison said. “And when she sings, she changes the melody; and I’m counting on her to do that. I see myself just as a songwriter and she’s a vocal stylist, and someone who just kind of takes a song on within themselves like the great singers do. And she’ll – without even thinking about it – she’ll just change it up and sing it like it ought to be.”

A collaborator in life and the studio, Robison and Willis released two well-received duet albums including  Cheater’s Game (2013) and  Our Year (2014), but it has been nine years since Robison released a solo studio project, The New World (2008).

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Press Release) — Amy Black has always been drawn to soul singers. But it wasn’t until she began exploring her own southern roots for her last album, The Muscle Shoals Sessions, that she found her musical sweet spot — and knew her next stop had to be the place where blues and soul converge (and where she herself was conceived); where Al Green, Otis Redding and so many others spun grit and groove into some of the world’s most beloved tunes. So she traveled from her Nashville home to Soulsville U.S.A. and joined forces with several top musical architects to lay down the sound she was meant to make — the sound of Memphis.
