Eric Church Sells Out Second Solo Show in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Wed., May 13, 2015) – When Eric Church, the seven-time GRAMMY nominee and the entertainer New York Magazine called “one of the brightest lights in any genre,” announced he was doing a rare, solo acoustic show on July 30 to inaugurate the new Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, it sold out in less than five minutes. In order to accommodate as many fans as possible, a second show on July 31 was just added last week, and in only three days of tickets being on sale, the second show has now completely sold out as well.

This is the third sold out Nashville concert this year for the top selling country music artist of 2014. On January 10, the ACM and CMA Award winner set a new venue attendance record of 18,411 when his The Outsiders World Tourperformed at the Bridgestone Arena.

Known for creating a different set list for each show, Church recently told Rolling Stone, “I think it's good that we're getting a lot of people in the rooms. I still say that it's what you do then. It's one thing to get 'em in the room, it's quite another one that they'll leave there and want to come back, and that's really what I focus on. I don't care if it's 1,000 or 100,000, it's about making sure whatever that room is, that they have a unique experience. And changing the show enables the possibility that there can be that spiritual connection, that thing that nobody can name that happens at a show.”

Earlier today it was announced that Church was nominated for a CMT Music Award for Best Male Video for “Talladega,” his second No. 1 hit from his Platinum-selling The Outsiders album.  This is the latest in a solid string of GRAMMY, CMA, ACM, and ACC Award nominations for the critically-acclaimed album that Entertainment Weekly calls his “most brazen, brilliant disc yet” and caused NPR to exclaim that “Eric Church is working on a level that few other country artists of his generation can touch.”

Runner of the Woods Announces Debut Album 'Thirsty Valley' out July 10, 2015

On July 10th, Nashville, Tennessee's Runner of the Woods will release their debut album Thirsty Valley. For front man Nick Beaudoing, its release means the light at the end of the tunnel.

2014 was spent in the shadow of a serious family illness. Beaudoing's mother was in a coma in his hometown of Dallas, Texas, and her condition was dire enough to require him to leave his wife and child behind for weeks at a time. Between visits to Texas, he would return to Nashville and stay busy in the studio, where he occupied his mind with the writing and recording of Thirsty Valley.

Yesterday, The Bluegrass Situation premiered "Eastern Time," the first track to be released from the album.

Stream the track here:
https://soundcloud.com/runner-of-the-woods/08-eastern-time

Due to his mother's illness, completing the album meant recording at night, after first working at his day job and then checking in with his family. This cycle was punctuated with periodic trips back to Dallas to care for his mother, whose condition only gradually began to improve.  Just when it seemed that his schedule couldn’t get any more hectic, he received the welcome news that he and his wife would be expecting another baby.

“The past year was trying, but in a few short months the difficulties gave way to good things: my mother made a near-full recovery.  I had another son.  And now I have a record with a new band that I’m really proud of.  It turns out I was right to be hopeful.”

The album was recorded at the Toy Box Studio in Nashville, TN and Russell Street Recording where he enlisted guitar slinger Josh Kaufman (Josh Ritter, Dawn Landes) to give the songs a spaced out, dreamy quality.  He also recruited pedal steel guitarist Jonathan Gregg (the Doc Marshalls), whose ferocity on the instrument has become a key component Runner of the Woods’ sound.

Beaudoing previously led NYC’s Cajun honky-tonkers the Doc Marshalls. Over the course of three releases, the band evolved from Bakersfield-style shuffles and Acadian barnburners to jagged, glimmering folk. Thirsty Valley actually began as the band’s fourth record. This new musical direction, combined with his relocation to Nashville a few years earlier, lead Beaudoing away from the Doc Marshalls and start Runner of the Woods.

The O's to Play Hill Country Live NYC May 20th & 21st

The O's, John Pedigro and Taylor Young, came together in 2008 after having known each other through all of their other groups (Polyphonic Spree, Young Heart Attack, Slick 57, Rose County Fair, Hi-Fi Drowning, etc). It was an easy upstart and they took no time jumping in head first. "We both had songs that we felt needed to be played but no band to use as an outlet. Three months later, we entered the recording studio and recorded an EP which ended up being half of our first album We Are The O's (2009 Idol Records)."

Since then, they have toured relentlessly all across the US, UK, Europe, and even Hawaii. In 2011, they recorded their second album with Grammy award winning Stuart Sikes. Entitled Between The Two, the duo played every instrument on the album with Stuart man the helm. They continued to tour to an ever growing fan base and released their their album, Thunderdog, in 2013. They recorded the majority of that album in Tornillo, TX at the legendary Sonic Ranch Studio.

The O's bring their banjo fueled Americana/folk/country (good music plain and simple) to Hill Country in NYC for two shows that can only be described as "can't miss."

They also have a Pledge music campaign to support their new album, Honeycomb. Click here for more information.

MEDICINE STONE-Where the Best “Red Dirt” Minds Come Together

Tahlequah, OK (May 12, 2015)-The question has been asked about a million times. What is “Red Dirt” music? The answers are limitless and everyone has their own take on it.  Fans know it originated in Oklahoma, that it’s a brotherhood of musicians bound in the art of “song,” that it’s a smorgasbord of sounds in which everyone adds their own particular flavor to the community stew.  But…in order to truly find out exactly what this much beloved and internationally respected genre is you have to go straight to the source.  One experience at Medicine Stone…and you’ll know it absolutely. Nestled on the banks of the Illinois River at the Diamondhead Resort in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, this three-day jubilee is a true “Red Dirt” reunion, and the only of its kind.

Medicine Stone happens September 24th-26th. The 2015 lineup includes Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Turnpike Troubadours, Cody Canada & The Departed, Randy Rogers Band, Shinyribs, Reckless Kelly, Micky & The Motorcars, American Aquarium, The Old 97’s, The Great Divide, John Fullbright, Dirty River Boys and Jonny Burke. Tickets for accommodation packages go on sale June 1st at 9am, and single day tickets go on sale August 3rd. Tickets can only be purchased on the website at www.medicinestoneok.com.

In the very brief time since the event’s inception in 2013, Medicine Stone has drawn thousands of avid fans from around the country, quadrupling attendance with each passing year.  The event’s creators, Jason Boland & The Stragglers and Turnpike Troubadours, are overwhelmed by the fruition of an event that was years in the making, and of the staggering growth in only three shorts years.  Some exciting changes have been made to this year’s festivities including ongoing performances during the day and a big Thursday night lineup, package accommodations that include prime RV spots for that “home away from home” atmosphere, and tented after parties for those who don’t want to go down til’ the sun comes up.  Adding to the celebrations are the almost simultaneously releases of the Turnpike Troubadour’s new album “The Turnpike Troubadours” on September 18th and Jason Boland & The Stragglers’ new album “Squelch” on October 16th.

“We are so excited for this year’s lineup.  The crowd is going to be completely blown away and transported to a place they have never experienced at an Americana festival.  Be there or…”  -Jason Boland/Jason Boland & The Stragglers

“I’d be proud to be a part of this lineup no matter where in the US it was located.  The fact that I had a hand in its making and having it here in one of the most beautiful parts of my home state…it’s nearly too good to be true.”  -Evan Felker/Turnpike Troubadours

“Medicine Stone was the best festival I've ever played in Oklahoma. Hands down. Great bands, well ran, long may it run.”  -Mike McClure/Mike McClure Band and The Great Divide

“Medicine Stone is one of three festivals that I really look forward to.  Not only is it in my old stomping grounds, but it’s the Okies gathering together again with our Americana friends.  I always want to stay all three days because it’s such a recharge for the musical soul.”   -Cody Canada/Cody Canada and The Departed

“Cool and down home like a stone.  The tribe with the good vibe.  That’s why they call it medicine.”    -Kevin Russell/Shinyribs

“While it's been a dream to develop a festival of substance in our home state, it's equally important to show visitors to Oklahoma what we are made of, where we come from, and who Oklahomans are. We pay homage to Oklahoma's Native American roots in the name, and hope to foster a musical tradition that treats the land with respect and reverence.”  -Brad Rice/Jason Boland and The Stragglers

About the creators

Jason Boland and The Stragglers circa 1998 has become one of the most successful artists in the Red Dirt/Texas country music scene.  Oklahoma born and bred, Boland has released eight acclaimed albums including the latest release DARK & DIRTY MILE that peaked at #25 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, and has been praised as one of the most poignant writers of his generation.

Long-time friend and Oklahoma native, Evan Felker, fronts the Turnpike Troubadours, a band of country rock prodigies that snagged a national spotlight with their 2012 release GOODBYE NORMAL STREET.  Celebrated for its lyrical style that boasts genuine story telling wrapped in deep emotion, the record hit #57 on the Billboard 200 chart and was cited as “the most unjustly overlooked Americana album of 2012” by the Washington Post.

The Diamondhead Resort is located at 12081 Oklahoma 10 in Tahlequah, OK 74464

The Kingston Springs Suite Lost 1972 Album To Be Released for First Time May 19th

PictureCourtesy Missing Piece Group
Embraced by Johnny Cash, Produced by Shel Silverstein and Kris Kristofferson

With a sprawling backstory that includes a veritable pantheon of Nashville's biggest names, The Kingston Springs Suite may be the greatest undiscovered treasure of the outlaw country era. Recorded in 1972 with the help of Johnny Cash, Shel Silverstein, Kris Kristofferson and "Cowboy" Jack Clement, the album has been hidden in the vaults until now. A prophetic, loose and gritty Polaroid snapshot into the lives of a small town of an America gone by, The Kingston Springs Suite will finally be officially released on May 19th through the Delmore Recording Society.

Over four decades since its creation, The Kingston Springs Suite can now be heard for the first time via an exclusive album stream at The A.V. Club. The track "Bessie That's A Lie" was the first song to be shared from the album, and first premiered with The Boot.

Hailed by Johnny Cash as “one of the greatest writers this business has ever had,” Vince Matthews was the proverbial songwriter’s songwriter, his songs performed by a broad range of Nashville icons, from Webb Pierce and Waylon Jennings to Hank Williams, Jr. and the aforementioned Man in Black himself. Matthews might have been a contender himself but fate and his own self-destructive ways saw his only recorded work go unreleased until today. The Kingston Springs Suite – written and performed in partnership with singer/songwriter Jim Casey – was Matthews’ magnum opus, a sad, stoned song cycle chronicling his adopted Tennessee hometown of Kingston Springs (Pop. 510).c

Produced by the one and only Shel Silverstein – with help from Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Cowboy Jack Clement – The Kingston Springs Suite paints a crystal clear picture of the town’s life and its lore, of residents like blacksmith Vernon Newsom (“Mr. Soul”) and “Mr. Sam” The Railroad Man. Songs like “Melva’s Wine” and “Five Hundred Houses” are remarkably rich helpings of evanescent Americana, Matthews and Casey trading rough but resonant vocals over an outlaw symphony of front porch folk and traditional country, honky tonk balladry laced with the mellow fug of early 70’s rock. Finely etched and naturalistic, The Kingston Spring Suitecaptures the final breath of Smalltown USA before suburban sprawl commenced its proliferation over the land.

Despite its undeniable artistry and celebrity pedigree, Matthews’ lifelong knack for self-sabotage saw his defining work disappear into country music history. The Kingston Springs Suite became a cautionary Nashville tale, a secret totem heard of by few and actually heard by even fewer. Matthews died November 22, 2003, his obituary a reminder of how fleeting success in Music City can be. More than four decades later, Delmore Recording Society has made Vince Matthews & Jim Casey’sThe Kingston Springs Suite available for the first time, offering a chance for the world to finally hear a milestone piece of American music applauded by Johnny Cash as “a laid-out slice of life as lived and learned by a laid-back country picker who knows and loves and understands the people like you’ll find at Kingston Springs.”

Stephanie Quayle Rolls Out “That's What I'm Talking About"

5/12/2015

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 12, 2015)—Rolling out the summertime picnic blanket like a big ole welcome mat, independent country recording artist, Stephanie Quayle
(Rebel Engine Entertainment) is gearing up to release her latest single entitled“That’s What I’m Talking About.”* Written by Lindsay Rimes, Emily Shackelton and Phil Barton, and produced by Ilya Toshinsky (who has worked alongside
Dolly Parton, George Strait and Sheryl Crow), the track comes from her upcoming self-titled album (and third national recording).

With a contemporary flavor, this country-chic cowgirl’s latest tune appeals to the young and young at heart. A tune filled with "Ooh-ohs," the up-beat groove sets the pace for "sippin’ on a good time" as an extended invitation to "get the party on." Poised to become the summer anthem of 2015, Stephanie showcases her natural vocal ability to deliver the concise, automated, roll-of-the-tongue lyrics with ease.

“The first time I heard this song, it became like an ear worm; I couldn’t get it out of my head. Getting it under my fingers, performing it all over the country, solidified its potency,” said Quayle. "This track makes people smile and dance and when I sing the verse about ‘all my girls,’ that’s when the sisterhood comes alive in the audience.  …and that’s what I’m talking about!”

A “must-see," high energy, alluring entertainer, Stephanie Quayle is a modern day cowgirl--a musical temptress who can bring a crowd to its feet with a rockin’ “wild ride” tune and then silence a room with a whisper-soft ballad. Stephanie’s multi-talented career has taken her across the country to perform on historical stages (where she’s performed alongside Jerrod Niemann, Jamie O’Neal and country’s rising newcomer Jon Pardi) and various conventions (including the Maria Shriver Women's Conference, Sundance Film Festival, NRA, Amway and O’Reilly Auto Parts Conventions) appear in front of the camera (as a model and television host), participate in competitive equine and firearm sporting events, and as a devotee to lend her assistance to various charities.

Stephanie will participate in CMA Fest for her fourth consecutive year; she is scheduled to perform at the Gildan® Broadway Stage at Hard Rock Café
Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2015.

For more information on Stephanie Quayle, visit www.stephaniequayle.com.
