27 Personal Essays on The Way An Artist Stirred, Informed, Consoled

Austin, Texas (Press Release) --  At a time when women’s lives have never been more public, more debated, more celebrated and in many ways, more scrutinized, Woman Walk The Line: How the Women of Country Changed Our Lives  arrives. A collection of 27 women writers of varying age, race, sexual orientation and occupation, these deeply personal essays reflect how one country artist served as the life pivot that shifted everything in each writer’s life.

Including activists, academics, artists, historians, critics, mothers, daughters, songwriters, curators, T.V. producers and poets, Woman Walk The Line represents a vast sampling of who women in America are today. From James Beard Foundation top prize winner Ronni Lundy (Victuals) on Hazel Dickens and what freedom meant to an Appalachian woman in the ‘70s, to Entertainment Weekly reporter Madison Vain on Loretta Lynn and reproductive freedom today, to Rosanne Cash’s eulogy for June Carter Cash, to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Director Shelby Morrison on Barbara Mandrell and the lessons that helped get her out of Lubbock, Texas, to New York Times best-selling author, top songwriter and leading black intellectual Alice Randall on Lil Hardin’s overlooked contribution to Jimmie Rodgers’ “Blue Yodel No. 9,” to The Bluegrass Situation’s Kelly McCartney on k.d. lang’s empowering of McCartney’s own “Queer” identification, real life pulses through these moments of recognition, reckoning, recalibration, loss and finding one’s way.

Nashville, TN - - -(Press Release)  Three-time GRAMMY nominee, Pat Green is back with an infectious new single, “Drinkin’ Days,” available at digital retailers on  May 26.  It’s the perfect get ready for summer track co-written by Jaron Boyer, Ben Burges, and Phil Barton.  Green recorded the track at Arlyn Studios in Austin, Texas with his longtime touring band.  Drummer Justin Pollard also served as producer for the single.

“Drinking Days” is a lighthearted, windows-down, feel the breeze romp of a song.   The lyrics are the perfect match for Green’s signature brand of fun-loving, life-of-the-party music.

“I can still raise em up - hang with the best of my friends
don’t get me wrong, they still taste good - but not as good as they did back then
back in those drinking days - and all of those parties”

“there’s nights I can’t forget - ain’t got a clue what we did”

“those glory days and all the hell we raised”

Green and his band look forward to performing the new single for fans as they crisscross the nation on tour.   His explosive live shows and guy next-door charm have made him a favorite among legions of loyal fans who have purchased over 2 million albums and flock to sold out shows from House of Blues in Los Angeles to Terminal 5 in NYC.  His current tour will be making stops in Denver, Aspen, Kansas City, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston, NYC and across the Lonestar state.

A critic's darling, his explosive live shows have earned praise touting him as “the Springsteen of the Southwest” in  People  magazine.  He’s also been lauded in  Esquire, Rolling Stone, People, USA Today, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Associated Press, American Songwriter, Country Weekly, Playboy and Billboard.  Green’s single “Girls From Texas,” (a duet with Lyle Lovett), off of his last studio album HOME spent a massive 10 weeks at #1 on the Texas Music Chart.
