On July 17, Quayle will perform for opening day of Winnebago’s 2017 Grand National Rally in Forest City, IA.

(Press Release) When Jeremy Pinnell released OH/KY in the summer of 2015 to stunned acclaim, it felt like an entire career compressed into one knock-out album.  This unassuming northern Kentucky singer-songwriter sauntered and ripped through ten instant country classics that tracked as so confident and comfortable that it could have been mistaken for a seasoned musician’s creative peak.  The songs themselves, reverent of Americana’s most enduring traditions, presented the man’s scope - his misadventures, loves, failures, and contradictions.  Hailed as a “mind-blowingly good” (Greg Vandy, KEXP) “tutorial on classic country music” (Popmatters), Pinnell’s debut immediately differentiated as authentic and unflinching.
 
If OH/KY was the self-assured introduction of an unconventional new talent, his 2017 album Ties of Blood and Affection presents a canny lateral move.  Instead of doubling down on the stark themes and values of his debut, this sophomore album finds Pinnell finding comfort in his own skin and achieving the redemption only hinted at in his previous batch of haunted songs.  Here Pinnell joyfully embraces the working life, family obligations, and faith.  His new stories delve into acceptance and survival, all the while investigating his most challenging chapter yet: adulthood.  While “If life don’t get any better / I’m alright with this” isn’t an out-right triumph, it’s an honest revelation.

Miranda with more than 1000 fellow animal lovers, including Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, created a sea of pink as they, along with approximately 120 dogs marched from Nissan Stadium over the Nashville Pedestrian Bridge, and ended at Chevrolet Walk of Fame Park, where Lambert was joined onstage by Storme Warren, host of SiriusXM’s “The Highway.”

Nashville singer-songwriter Will Hoge has premeired "Little Bit Of Rust" with Rolling Stone Country. It's the debut single from Hoge's 11th studio album Anchors, out August 11th via Thirty Tigers. The song features multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin (Jack White, Beck) on mandolin, and guest vocals from Sheryl Crow.
 
"I'd always wanted a female vocal for this song because I felt like the 'we' in the chorus is important," says Hoge. "Nobody fixes a relationship on their own. I felt like it deserved this strong female presence, and Sheryl's just one of the greatest singers I've ever heard. Having her on the track breathed a whole new life into the song, and it's one of my favorite things I've ever done."

The pedal steel, the fiddle, the hush of a song sung from the heart—the world of American roots music is no stranger to Seattle songwriter Sera Cahoone. After three albums on Sub Pop Records and years at the top of the indie charts, she’s returning to her earliest influences. Growing up, Cahoone's father, a Rocky Mountain dynamite salesman, took the family to mining conferences at old honky-tonks. The sounds she heard there—the twang of country crooners, cowboy boots on peanut shells—have found their way into a new album, From Where I Started. It’s an album about falling in and out of love, finding new hope, and learning that the best way to move forward is to remember where you began. 

One of the most compelling tracks of the album is Ladybug, which is about the death of Cahoone's cousin Tawnee at the hands of a domestic partner. While many country songs explore domestic violence, most do so in a heterosexual context, Ladybug is original in that it sheds light on the often hidden issues of domestic violence in queer relationships.
