Sibling group, The Cains Trio, is gearing up for the release of their debut single, titled “Be Yourself With Me.” Made up of sisters, Madison and Taylor, along with brother, Logan Cain, the three Alabama natives have been singing together since their toddler days, and are now bringing their harmonies to Country Radio.

“Be Yourself With Me” will hit Country radio on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The mid-tempo track is a tender hearted tune about allowing loved ones to take their guard down and be open and honest with one another. Filled with calming harmonies, “Be Yourself with Me” reflects on one’s ability to “breathe a sigh of relief” and “be yourself with me.”

The emerging group has already achieved success in their home state of Alabama and has garnered a solid fan base by performing shows at music venues across the state. While all three were students at Troy University, the trio entered into a video contest, eventually winning the opportunity to open for Dave Barnes at WorkPlay in Birmingham, Ala.

“Ever since we can remember, the three of us have dreamed of having a career in music and are ready to work harder than ever to make our vision happen,” said Madison Cain. “The album (Stay On Board) is an accumulation of years of writing and singing together, and we can’t wait to introduce it to our fans. We feel as if our debut single (‘Be Yourself With Me’) truly represents the trio perfectly, and we’re looking forward to sharing more of our musical labors of love with our fans and radio as we dive into this journey!”

In addition to their forthcoming single and album release, The Cains are currently honing their songwriting and recording skills by collaborating with established songwriters in both Nashville and Muscle Shoals. Besides drawing from their own DNA, their original music is inspired by a vast combination of genres from country, soul and pop to Americana, folk and contemporary Christian. Even with a wide variety of influences, they know exactly what they want in their music.

“Our hope is to brand ourselves as ‘fun music,’” says Logan. “All I know is that no matter the song or genre, we want our songs to be uplifting, joy-filled and fun.”

Krystal Keith Captivating Fans & Media On Major Tour

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Coming off her Grand Ole Opry debut and deep into an opening slot on a major tour, Krystal Keith is earning the support of country music fans and media outlets across the country ... and still finding time for some sweet diversions.

Currently on tour opening for her dad, Toby Keith, Krystal doesn't just grace the Shut Up And Hold On Tour's main stage, she's also getting out with the fans. Impromptu acoustic tailgate performances have sprung up in parking lots in Washington, D.C. (6/28), Cleveland, OH (6/29) and Holmdel, NJ (7/25).

Krystal's constant-motion summer recently slowed long enough for her home on wheels to get the full treatment on an episode of Bus Invaders (watch here). More traditional media are showing deeper interest, hailing her debut albumWhiskey & Lace and celebrating her live performances.

She was recently featured on FOX affiliates in Cleveland (click here) and St. Louis (click here) and cited for her strong voice by the St. Louis Post Dispatch. She's also been the subject of profiles in thePittsburgh Tribune Review, Inland Valley (CA) Daily Bulletin, The Beaver County Times (Pittsburgh),Bristol (CT) Observer and more. A recent show review (Youngstown Vindicator) noted "a diversity and maturity rare for such a young artist."

When she's not winning fans and influencing media, Krystal exercises her culinary talents on her well-received food blog TheBarnyardBistro.com. Her latest creation is Apple Pie Ravioli. Because I love food almost as much as music here is the recipe:

Ingredients

2 sheets of pie dough (in your grocer's refrigerator or freezer section), thawed and at room temperature
½ 21-ounce can apple pie filling (or you can make your own pie filling)
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
3 tablespoons butter, melted
cinnamon-sugar blend

For the icing:

¾ cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoon half-and-half
¼ teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place the pie filling in a bowl and use a knife to roughly cut the apple slices into small pieces. You want them cut to approximately ½ inch cubes. I did it in the bowl because doing this on a cutting board would just make a mess. If you are making your own pie filling, just cut your apples small to begin with before you cook them. Add in the apple pie spice and mix well.

Unroll 1 sheet of the pie dough. You can lightly draw a line with a pastry wheel in the pie dough in squares to guide your placement of the filling - DO NOT cut through yet. Place approximately 1 to 2 teaspoons of filling for each square. Make sure there is enough room on the edges that the edge will seal. Brush all of the edges and in between each drop of filling lightly with the melted butter. Place the top sheet of pie dough.

Starting at the center of the dough, begin to press down lightly working the large air pockets out. Press in between each drop filling and use light pressure to form the dough around the drop of filling while working the air out to the edges until you have worked around each drop. Use a fluted pastry wheel to cut the ravioli out. This is just a free-hand process, they do not all need to be uniform and the same. The pie dough is round so you will have a couple odd angles. Make sure to cut all edges of the dough with the fluted pastry wheel. Discard excess dough.

Use your thumb and index-finger to pinch all the way around each ravioli (as shown in photos). This will give the edge, a pretty edge similar to that of a ravioli. Brush each ravioli with melted butter and lay them butter-side down on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Butter the side facing up and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar blend. Place in the oven for 15 minutes. Let cool slightly for 5-10 minutes. Mix the icing ingredients together and drizzle over the ravioli. Serve warm or room temperature (or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream).

The Black Lillies Play Rockwood Music Hall October 8th

The Fall concert announcements are coming fast and furious, but the one that maybe made me the happiest is finding out that The Black Lillies will play Rockwood Music Hall in NYC on October 8th.

Cruz Contreras and his bandmates – harmony vocalist Trisha Gene Brady, multi-instrumentalist Tom Pryor, bass player Robert Richards and drummer Bowman Townsend – have grown from a few friends sitting around campfires and living rooms to a band that shows up in far-flung cities where folks to whom they’ve never played before already know the words to the songs. Without a major record label, they’ve managed to conquer the Billboard Top 200 charts (Runaway Freeway Blues debuted at #43), put three tracks in Country Music Television’s top 12 requested videos, and film a nationally broadcast commercial for Twizzlers. They’ve played festivals such as Bonnaroo, Rochester Jazz Festival, MerleFest, and CMA Fan Fair.  Despite trafficking in a richer, more authentic brand of country and Americana than what gets played on mainstream country radio, they’ve still been invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry more than twenty times which is a record for an independent act.

Having seen them live, I can tell you they are phenomenal! Their sound definitely cannot pigeonholed; just know that they make some seriously good music that is influenced by a variety of genres from soul to folk to rock. Check out the video for "Smokestack Lady" below.

Doors 930/Showtime is 10pm
Tickets are $10/12
