Alabama had two sold out shows at the Ryman earlier this month. From what we heard, they were fantastic. Now GAC will air highlights from one of those shows in the TV special
"Alabama & Friends," which will be premiering next Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 8pm CST on Great American Country. The special will include appearances by Jason Aldean, FGL, Eli Young Band & Jamey Johnson.

(November 18th, 2013 - Toronto, ON)- Gord Bamford continues to raise the bar with his first ever #1 Country Radio single for the song “When Your Lips Are So Close”, the debut track from his 6th studio album (his second on Sony Music Canada) Country Junkie. BDS and Mediabase Canada both confirmed the single reaching the top spot on their respective Country Radio charts for the week ending November 17th. Out of the gate “When Your Lips Are So Close”, co-written by Bamford, Byron Hill and Brent Baxter,
locked up “the panel in the first week at radio and in doing so became the #1 Most Added Overall at Country radio that week.” It marked the first time in several years that a single debuted so strongly. 
Country Junkie, released on October 8th, 2013 debuted at #1 on the Nielsen Soundscan Country sales chart and #14 on the top 200 overall chart.

In September, Gord Bamford dominated the 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards in Edmonton, Alberta
taking home 5 awards from his 7 nominations in the following categories: Album of the Year (presented by
Walmart), Single of the Year, CMT Video of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Record Producer(s) of the
Year.

Carrie Underwood is the latest country artist to get the cartoon treatment. Fame: The Carrie Underwood Story will be released November 13th. The comic will be released by Bluewater Productions and will be about her life. It is a story of "faith, determination and inspiration." Country Music's  JT Hodges will star in a new made-for-television holiday movie. The artist who has already caught the eye of Music City Nashville,
award-winning producers, the ACM’s and People Magazine will debut his acting skills in the Hallmark Channel Original Holiday movie, “Finding Christmas” which premieres on the network on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 8pm EST. In conjunction with the network television movie, JT Hodges will also release a modern country take on the classic holiday song “Joy to the World” on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 via iTunes. The movie is part of Hallmark Channel’s popular “Countdown to Christmas” programming campaign.

From JT Hodges website: Joining JT Hodges in the cast are Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Galactica” “The
Firm”), Mark Lutz (“Ghost Whisperer”) and Cristina Rosato (“Perfect Plan”). “Finding Christmas” is about single mother Ryan (Helfer) who has just given up on dating after her divorce, happily accepting her young son as the most important man in her life. That all changes when Ryan’s brother Owen (Hodges), also feeling unlucky in love after a bad breakup, swaps his home in their small North Carolina town with New York City adman Sean (played by Lutz). Ryan feels an instant spark with her new neighbor, but Sean, who signed up for the temporary home swap after a proposal gone wrong, is out of his comfort zone in his new rural surroundings. He quickly discovers the magic involved with taking chances and starts opening up to romantic possibilities around free-spirited Ryan.

This morning on GMA, two CMA Awards were announced early: Musical Event of the Year and Video of the Year and as we predicted, "Highway Don't Care" walked away with both awards. Congratulations to the artists. Remember to tune into the CMA Awards tonight on ABC at 8ET.

The parade that many Americans have on their televisions on Turkey Day, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, held here in NYC, announced artists who would be performing during the parade. The country artists that will be on hand to celebrate the parade's 87th year include Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood, who along with the cast of the Sound of Music will give audiences a preview of what's to come when that live broadcast airs.
