Happily married and living in domestic bliss with a wife,  two kids, and five pets (two dogs and a cat) in Ohio, Lazarus felt a calling. So he packed up his family and moved to Austin where he  embraced, and was embraced by,  its  amazing music scene and culture.  Armed with his own tunes, Lazarus is set to release his  debut  album, Rock n Roll Heart, on May 26th. Recorded with producer    Kris Brown at King Electric Studios the self-penned project embraces the sound of Austin and features some of the city's best including  Warren Hood, Libby Koch, Ed Miles, Mark Wilson, and more.

The title track from the record, "Rock n Roll Heart," is a quintessential roots rocker fueled by the sweet twang of guitars, a shuffling percussive beat, and Lazarus' weathered and wise vocals.

Lazarus notes of the track, “"When I wrote the song, I was new to Texas and had, early on, encountered a few true cowboys, Chuck Hawthorne and Larry Wilson (Jimmy Lafave's long time lead guitarist) who, like all of us can struggle with their art from time to time. I thought that I was "calling them out" sorta, in song. At some point during the recording of the record, I think that I realized that I was talking to myself. The composition of the record grew stylistically beyond traditional folk and that it, ultimately beat with a Rock n Roll Heart."

TDC is proud to premiere "Rock n Roll Heart". Stream the song  below. For more information visit his official website.

(Nashville, Tenn. – May 2, 2017 Press Release) Curb Records’ recording duo,  American Young  is kicking off summer with an eleven-date European tour.  Although this is the duo’s fifth  time overseas and  second   European tour in 2017, this will be the first time they are headlining the entire leg of the tour, making stops in Switzerland, United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Norway. In promotion of their recently released debut album,  AY, the tour will commence on  June 24th   in  Switzerland.

“We are very excited to experience the European audiences again, we connect with them in such a special way, it’s hard to describe,”  comments  Jon Stone, “The energy, the enthusiasm—It’s so much fun to be able to bring our passion to Europe, and the fans be so welcoming.”

Comprised of songwriter/musician, Kristy Osmunson, and songwriter/producer,  Jon Stone, American Young released their debut album in late 2016. Penning 11 of the 12 tracks, showcasing Osmunson and Stone’s natural songwriting abilities, the record features their first single, “Love is War,” along with tracks such as “God Sends a Train,” which speaks of the real-life devastation Osmunson endured when her mother was hit by a train but lived and eventually walked again, “Be Here,” which pleads for a moment of peace without the distractions of today’s world, and “Something to You,” which Osmunson fought back tears to record in the studio.

Mary Bragg wins MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriting Contest in Country Category

PictureCourtesy: Skye Media
(Press Release) Nashville-based Americana singer-songwriter Mary Bragg has won the MerleFest Chris Austin Songwriter Contest in the country category for her song “Lucky Strike” (co-written with Liz Poston). As winner in her category, she performed her song at MerleFest in Wilkesboro, NC on the Cabin Stage on Friday night. Other artists who performed at this year’s MerleFest included Zac Brown Band, The Avett Brothers, Béla Fleck, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sarah Jarosz, Jim Lauderdale, and many others.

“Lucky Strike” is rooted in the big dose of humility Bragg got when she moved from her hometown of Swainsboro, GA to New York City to pursue music. “There’s this feeling—no matter the dream—this desire to be seen, acknowledged; like you’re just waiting on that one thing that will get you to where you want to be,” Bragg explains. “The song ‘Lucky Strike’ is bit of a sarcastic poke at hopefulness, because it might feel like there’s just one thing holding you back. But it’s never that simple is it? And—it might even be your own subconscious hang-ups standing in the way.”

The song is the title track from Bragg’s forthcoming album, Lucky Strike, which will be released on  May 5, 2017. Bragg and co-producer Jim Reilley (of indie stalwarts The New Dylans) recorded the album “in a backyard barn studio,” says Bragg, “where the microphones are old, not expensive-vintage-old, just old. Where the pop filters have holes in them. Where the vocal booth is unfinished because real walls never got built. It's where ‘recorded live’ is for real recorded live, and everything is exposed.”

(Press Release) On  June 24 and 25, New Jersey/New York fixture  Joe D'Urso   will present the fourth annual  Rockland-Bergen Music Festival  on the borders of Rockland and Bergen counties in Tappan, New York. The festival, which has now become an anticipated event in area, will feature over 33 artists on two stages as well as 15 non-profit organizations to realize D'Urso's vision of a musical event that combines great music and important causes.

Early bird tickets are now on sale at the price of $45 or $51 for a two day pass. Visit  www.rocklandmusicfestival.com  for pricing and details. As in years past, anyone born in the calendar year of 1967 can enter the festival for FREE in celebration of their 50th birthday.

"As we enter our fourth year, fans can expect a lot of the same things that we have been doing the past few years. Festival fans have said that this is their favorite small music festival as it feels like a family BBQ with famous and talented people walking around and performing. I personally love that line as that is exactly what I was going for when I started 4 years ago. The RBMF is a true labor of love as I wanted to bring fantastic music to the border area of Rockland and Bergen counties as we have never had anything like this in our area. Now, we have had various Grammy winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members. Not bad for a family BBQ!" said D'Urso about the fourth installment of this annual event.

Wheeler Walker Jr. Podcast Trailer No. 1 Music Podcast On iTunes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Press Release) – If fan response to the  trailer  for unapologetically profane podcast from country outlier  Wheeler Walker Jr. is any indication, the podcast itself is destined to attract an equally ardent audience when it debuts  May 2.

The format is decidedly un-PC. Walker describes it as “where I f*ckin’ rant and rave and act like a f*ckin’ madman.”

The fans get it and clearly want more of the brash trash-talker. The trailer alone managed to make its way to the No. 1 music podcast on the iTunes store, and No. 30 for ALL podcasts. The first two episodes of the flagrantly provocative podcast will feature interviews with  Morgane  and  Chris Stapleton   and  Bill Burr, respectively, with more guests to be announced the coming weeks.

PictureEric Church / Photo Credit: Reid Long
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Press Release) – When Eric Church’s 2017 Holdin’ My Own Tour  launched in January, the 62-stop tour encompassing 40+ states and provinces in less than five months promised to give fans everything in Church’s arsenal. With “the attitude of rock 'n' roll, transgression and a little sin,” (The Courant) Church has been delivering on that vow with over 35 songs and three hours of music spanning his five-album discography each and every night. As he prepares for its last dozen stops in May, Church is looking to the future still, adding 8 remaining plays to his 2017 calendar, leaving only 10 opportunities coast-to-coast to see Church live after his  Holdin’ My Own Tour  wraps May 26-27 in Nashville, Tennessee with the first of eight going on sale  May 12 at 10 a.m.

For the eight new performances, Church will retire his two-set model (for now), and bring special guests to join him. The first to be announced for his Alabama dates Sept. 15-16 are CMA and ACM Duo of the Year winners, Brothers Osborne, and singer/songwriter Ashley McBryde who fans from Church’s Chicago show will remember due to their rousing rendition of “Bible and a .44” off her Jalopies & Expensive Guitars album.
