Christian Lopez To Release RED ARROW On September 22nd

Nashville, TN — Singer-songwriter-guitarist Christian Lopez will release his sophomore album Red Arrow (Blaster Records) on September 22nd. Produced by Marshall Altman, the album illustrates the next chapter in the artistic maturity and sonic evolution of this promising young artist.

Lopez’s debut release Onward (2015) was produced by Grammy Award-winner Dave Cobb, and received accolades from a wide variety of press outlets including Associated Press, Southern Living, No Depression and The Bluegrass Situation. He was featured as a Rolling Stone Country’s “Best Newcomer” while American Songwriter called him “...an artist with a rich career ahead of him.”

In notable contrast to his debut album, Red Arrow finds Lopez sharing some of the songwriting duties this time around, something he says just developed naturally. “So much of the previous record was written at home in West Virginia, long before I had a record deal,” he explains. “I had developed into a solo writer just out of circumstance. But touring and sharing a lot of time and miles with so many other inspiring musicians just lends itself to the spirit of collaboration.”

Wednesday, July 26
Rockwood Music Hall NYC

196 Allen Street
Showtime: 8pm.; Tickets: $20

Critically hailed singer, songwriter, and author Peter Himmelman is gearing up for the August 11 release of his new album There Is No Calamity which was produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos.

There Is No Calamity’s existence arose with a touch of serendipity. The Minnesota-bred, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter has had recent conversations with musician friends over the dilemma they are facing: “Why make a record these days, especially when no one's buying them?” For Himmelman, the answer is easy: songwriters need to write songs and need to record them, and then get them out into the world. Making an album also, in Himmelman’s words, “taps into something I loved as a kid when a record was something cool.”

Be sure to see Himmelman perform songs from the upcoming release on Wednesday,
July 26th. Details above.

Kate Grom recently premiered the video for "Whistle Cry," the lead track on her debut album, Heroine, which was released this past February. The song was inspired by her soul-searching European travels, with music drawing influences from a vintage vinyl collection of classic rock and country greats ranging from Fleetwood Mac to Emmylou Harris, as well as her college years experiencing the Nashville music scene.

In addition to songwriting, Kate Grom is a world champion horsewoman, so it was a natural fit for her to be riding Beauty Queen (aka Beauty) and Perfect Vengeance (aka Ace), with her leading man (on screen & off!), actor Chase Burnett, on Hancock Gray Bar (aka Blue) in the “Whistle Cry” video, which you can watch HERE.

Nashville, TN (June 26, 2017 Press Release) - Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver bring unparalleled storytelling to fans on August 25 with the 12-track wonder LIFE IS A STORY.  Described by Lawson as a mix of Bluegrass styles "from the middle of the road to the very traditional," the album never strays from the heart of the genre.  "So much of what makes good Bluegrass and Country music compelling comes down to great songwriters - and the stories told in their songs," Lawson observes.  "Life itself is really a continuous story that embraces the beginning, the middle and inevitable ending."  LIFE IS A STORY, and here it is sweetly sung.  Fans can pre-order the digital release HERE.

(Press Release) Acclaimed songwriter and guitarist David Rawlings will release his freshly pressed third album, Poor David’s Almanack, on August 11th via Acony Records. For Poor David’s Almanack, Rawlings leaves the Dave Rawlings Machine moniker behind and serves up a wry mixture of acoustic and electric music rich in ageless American vernacular. The album of ten new songs was crafted by studio wizards Ken Scott (Beatles, David Bowie) and Matt Andrews on analog tape during a week of sessions at legendary Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.  Rawlings and longtime compatriot Gillian Welch joined together with Willie Watson, Paul Kowert, Brittany Haas, Ketch Secor, and Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith of Dawes to produce an album for all seasons.

The touring iteration of Rawlings’ band, the all-star Dave Rawlings Machine, will embark on the first leg of a national tour this August to support Poor David’sAlmanack, as well as perform favorites from the first two Dave Rawlings Machine records, A Friend of A Friend and Nashville Obsolete. LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Press Release) — When the Replacements called it quits in 1991, founding member Tommy Stinson missed playing in a band with great chemistry and whose members all shared the same vision. He recruited then-Replacements drummer Steve Foley, Foley’s brother Kevin, and Steve Brantseg to form a new band — Bash & Pop.

Recorded with producer Don Smith (Cracker, Keith Richards, John Hiatt) and with help from Heartbreakers Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell, Americana icon Greg Leisz, Wire Train’s Jeff Trott, and more, the band’s debut album, Friday Night Is Killing Me, arrived in January of 1993. It combined stellar performances and a renewed energy, something many felt the last few Replacements records were missing.
