“When I think of WDVX, I think of community radio. I know it stretches a lot further than just the community, but it captures the spirit of the place. It’s much more than just a radio station. It feels like a friend.” - Ketch Secor, Old Crow Medicine Show

Radnor & Lee is a musical collaboration between Ben Lee and Josh Radnor. Friends for over a decade with a shared interest in spirituality and philosophy, they had always said they should write a song together. One song turned into ten and Radnor & Lee was born.

After their first live show at Hotel Cafe, a friend described their music as “the intersection of pop and prayer.” Upon hearing this, their producer Ryan Dilmore dubbed them “singer-psalmwriters.” The songs are by turns witty, hopeful, yearning, joyful, searching and meditative

(Press Release) “Proper Wilted,” the debut EP by Los Angeles-based band The Morning Yells is out now, and the band has also recently shared the in-studio music video for its “She Knows Exactly What She’s Doing” single via Atwood Magazine.

The song orginally premiered at
The Bluegrass Situation, which picked up on the band’s pristine three-part harmonies (it helps to have a pair of siblings – Phil and Laura Stancil – in the group), and went on to air the tune on its weekly “The Bluegrass Situation Radio Hour” on Los Angeles-area radio station 88.5 FM.

“We grew up in a family band, playing roots-rock and folk music at festivals and local watering holes throughout Michigan, where we’re originally from,” says Phil, whose warm and reedy tones define the vocals on the EP. “Our Dad taught us everything we know about music, and we fell in love with Beach Boys, America and The Moody Blues by digging through his record collection.”

Song Premiere: Gasoline Lollipops "Mustang"

Colorado-based band Gasoline Lollipops combines the sincerity of dirt-floor folk with the energy and rebelliousness of punk. It's an all-new incarnation of alt-country that’s high-energy and heartfelt, just like the American highway's soundtrack. This year marked the release of the GasPops' debut full-length album, Resurrection, and the band’s first-ever vinyl release, Soul Mine, will be released at the Fox Theatre in Boulder on Saturday, December 16. Today, the sextet premiere a new track, "Mustangs," a scorching blues-tinged punk country rocker that sounds especially good turned up to ten as you drive down the open road.

The band had this to say about the raucous track, "The track "Mustangs" from the upcoming Gasoline Lollipops album Soul Mine is a debaucherous road trip through the dirty South, as heard through the driving pandemonium of a GasPops engine. Robert Louis Cole, who traveled the South on a one-car tour with Gasoline Lollipops frontman Clay Rose a few years ago, wrote "Mustangs" as a sparse acoustic blues and we're honored to give it a rollicking full-band treatment on Soul Mine. Somewhere between Hunter Thompson and Muddy Waters, "Mustangs" is one of our most fun songs to perform live, and we had a particularly good time playing it at Red Rocks a few months ago. "

Colorado Daily readers voted Gasoline Lollipops "Best Local Musician/Group" for 2017, and in 2016, Denver Westword named Gasoline Lollipops Colorado's Best Country Artist. 2014 and 2015 brought multiple awards and accolades to the Gasoline Lollipops, including being selected to play six showcases in Austin during SXSW 2014; getting voted "Best Local Musician/Group" in the Colorado Daily's 2014 and 2015 polls; being selected as one of only six bands across Colorado for the highly coveted SpokesBUZZ Emerging Artists Incubator program; and winning the Oskar Blues Battle of the Bands in 2015.
