Reverend Peyton's 'The Front Porch Sessions' Coming March 10 from Thirty Tigers

BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (Press Release)— Southern Indiana-bred singer-guitarist  Reverend Peyton  is the bigger-than-life frontman of  Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. He has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy country blues styles that captured his imagination early in life and inspired him and his band to make pilgrimages to Clarksdale, Mississippi to study under such blues masters as T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour and David “Honeyboy” Edwards.

That passionate inspiration has made Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band America’s foremost country blues outfit and fuels the Rev’s new release, The Front Porch Sessions. Peyton’s dazzling guitar mastery is equaled here by his knack for vivid, emotionally impactful songwriting, and his originals are matched in their authenticity by the deeply felt vintage blues tunes that he covers. The album showcases the Rev’s irrepressible personality while echoing the enduring spirit of such acoustic blues icons as Charlie Patton, Blind Willie Johnson, Bukka White and Furry Lewis, whose “When My Baby Left Me” receives a memorable reading.

The Front Porch Sessions  will be released  March 10, 2017  on  Family Owned Records/Thirty Tigers.

Caroline Jones Premieres New Video for "Tough Guys"

Los Angeles, CA (Dec. 12th, 2016 Press Release) – Rising Country artist  Caroline Jones  debuts the sassy new music video for her single "Tough Guys" with an exclusive premiere @ AXS.com.  The song is off to a very fast start: “Tough Guys” is already #19 on  SiriusXm “The Highway” channel.

In the storyline of the video, which was shot at the historic Mack Sennet studios in Los Angeles, Jones interrupts a poker game with a bunch of “Tough Guys” and ends up schooling them on the art of winning – by playing by her own rules.

“Paul Boyd (Shania Twain, Stevie Nicks, Mick Jagger) directed the ‘Tough Guys’ music video,” Jones shares. “He had the vision for the iconic, stylized black and white treatment, which I loved, and we collaborated on the storyline involving the ‘Tough Guys’. I wanted to make sure that the attitude and intention of the song translated visually: I wrote ‘Tough Guys’ about being unapologetically true to yourself, but the lyrics are very tongue-in-cheek and sassy. The song calls out the hypocrites who think you should be different so they can feel better. It is not about seeking approval or winning people over, it's about expressing who you are fearlessly with the understanding that how other people interpret you has very little to do with you”.

She goes on to say “The video treatment gave me the opportunity to work with trained stuntmen (!) and we created a fight scene that hopefully is simultaneously exciting, punchy, cheeky and comedic. I also really enjoyed performing with the different instruments I played on the record: dobro, electric guitar, and banjo”. For more information visit HERE.

Guy Clark, "The King of the Texas Troubadours," is Honored with a New 19-Track Compilation Due March 3rd

12/9/2016

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Press Release)— One of the most revered songwriters of the past 50 years, Guy Clark created an enviable catalog of songs. Country music giants from  Johnny Cash  to  Kenny Chesney   all recorded his tunes.  The New York Times   hailed him as “the king of the Texas troubadours,” while  NPR’s  All Things Considered   declared that “if you want to learn how to write a song — one that's built to last, with vivid characters and images that plant you squarely inside a scene — listen to Guy Clark.”

Clark, who passed away on May 17, 2016, made over a dozen critically acclaimed albums, with  Dualtone Records  the home of his final recordings. The new retrospective,  Guy Clark: Best of the Dualtone Years,  due out on  March 3, 2017, draws upon his last three studio releases:  Workbench Songs   (2006),  Somedays The Song Writes You   (2009) and  My Favorite Picture of You  (2013). Each track delivers a master class in songwriting. “El Coyote” and “Rain in Durango” exemplify Clark’s richly evocative way with storytelling. “The Guitar” reveals his amazing gift for taking an ordinary situation (buying a pawn shop guitar) and transforming it into a magical experience. An old “Polaroid shot” serves as the jumping off point for his profoundly poignant love ode “My Favorite Picture of You” and the simple image of “cornmeal on a dance-hall floor” wonderfully sets the scene in the sweet romance “Cornmeal Waltz.” Then there are songs like “Maybe I Can Paint Over That” and “Hemingway’s Whiskey,” which offer wise, wry ruminations on the creative process.

CHICAGO, Ill. (Press Release) —  David “Honeyboy” Edwards,  born in Shaw, Miss., on June 28, 1915,  was the last of the  great Mississippi Delta bluesmen. His life intertwined with the lives of almost every blues legend, including   Robert Johnson, Sonny Boy Williamson, Sunnyland Slim, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, and many more.

In early 2010, Honeyboy was awarded the  Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award, and later that year returned to Los Angeles to perform at the G Spot, nimbly accompanied by  Jeff Dale & the South Woodlawners   and his long-time friend and manager,  Michael Frank. Even at 95 years old, Honeyboy was still singing and playing like a man of less than half that age.

The show turned out to be the last time Honeyboy was filmed and recorded, and is now available to be seen and heard on  I’m Gonna Tell You Somethin’ That I Know — a CD/DVD combo documenting that historic appearance.
